Built to perform. Backed when it matters. Tier 1 Components warrants eligible products against defects in materials and workmanship for two years from the original purchase date, subject to the registration, use, inspection, and claim requirements below.
This Limited Manufacturing Warranty is provided by Tier 1 Components LLC to the original retail purchaser of an eligible Tier 1 Components product purchased directly from Tier 1 Components or from an authorized Tier 1 Components retailer.
Coverage applies to defects in materials or workmanship that existed when the product was manufactured and that cause the product to fail during normal, intended bicycle use. Covered defects may include, when confirmed by Tier 1 Components inspection, manufacturing-related structural separation, improper bonding, material voids, defective machining, or another production defect that prevents the product from functioning as intended.
This warranty applies to Tier 1 Components products regardless of whether the product is manufactured from carbon fiber, aluminum, steel, composite material, rubber, thermoplastic polyurethane, or another material, unless a product page or written product-specific warranty states otherwise.
Coverage lasts for two (2) years from the original purchase date. The warranty is non-transferable and does not restart when a product is repaired or replaced. A repaired or replacement product is covered for the remainder of the original warranty period or ninety (90) days from the date it is returned to the customer, whichever is longer, unless applicable law requires additional coverage.
To activate this warranty, the product must be registered with Tier 1 Components within forty-five (45) days of delivery. Registration requires the information requested on the Warranty & Quality Control Card, proof of purchase, the product serial number when applicable, and any additional information reasonably required to identify the product and purchaser.
Registration information must be submitted to the Tier 1 Components Warranty Department using the instructions supplied with the product or through the website contact process. Failure to register within 45 days may result in denial of coverage, except where registration cannot lawfully be required as a condition of warranty coverage.
The purchaser is responsible for selecting the correct product and size, following all published installation and use instructions, observing torque specifications and service limits, using compatible components, performing reasonable inspection and maintenance, and immediately discontinuing use if damage, looseness, unusual noise, movement, cracking, deformation, or another unsafe condition is suspected.
Installation, maintenance, wheel building, and service should be performed by a qualified bicycle mechanic whenever the work requires specialized tools, measurements, or technical knowledge. Proof of professional installation may be requested when installation could reasonably relate to the reported failure; however, Tier 1 Components does not require the use of a particular repair facility or branded service provider.
This warranty does not cover damage, deterioration, or failure caused by:
Crash or impact damage that is not covered by this warranty may qualify under the separate Crash Replacement Program, subject to that program's registration, eligibility, and claim requirements.
Stop using the product immediately and contact the Tier 1 Components Warranty Department. The initial claim submission must include:
Do not ship a product until Tier 1 Components issues return instructions or a return authorization. Unauthorized returns may be refused. The product must be packaged safely and returned within the timeframe stated in the claim instructions. Unless prohibited by applicable law, the customer is responsible for shipping the product to Tier 1 Components. Tier 1 Components will pay standard return shipping within the contiguous United States for a claim approved as a covered manufacturing defect.
Tier 1 Components may require physical inspection and may perform reasonable testing, measurement, sectioning, or destructive analysis when necessary to determine the cause of failure. The customer will be advised before destructive analysis when practical. Products submitted for inspection must be clean and free of unrelated components unless otherwise directed.
Tier 1 Components will determine, based on the available evidence and inspection results, whether the condition is a covered manufacturing defect. Claims may be denied when the evidence is incomplete, the product cannot be authenticated, the cause of failure cannot reasonably be determined, or an excluded condition caused or contributed to the damage.
For an approved claim, Tier 1 Components will, at its option and without charge for the covered product remedy:
Exact colors, graphics, finishes, custom configurations, and discontinued models may not be available. A comparable replacement may differ cosmetically while providing substantially equivalent function. Replacement of an individual component does not include unrelated parts, labor, bicycle-shop charges, wheel-building charges, loss of use, travel, race fees, or other incidental expenses unless required by applicable law or approved in writing by Tier 1 Components.
Products replaced or refunded under this warranty become the property of Tier 1 Components and will not be returned.
Bicycle components are safety-critical. A damaged or improperly installed component can fail suddenly and may cause loss of control, serious injury, or death. Never continue riding a product that may be damaged. Inspection or approval of a warranty claim does not replace the rider's continuing responsibility to inspect the bicycle before use and maintain it correctly.
This written warranty is designated a “Limited Warranty.” It is the complete written manufacturing-defect warranty offered by Tier 1 Components for the covered product unless separate written terms supplied with that product provide additional rights.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose is limited in duration to the duration of this written warranty. Some states do not allow limitations on how long an implied warranty lasts, so this limitation may not apply to you.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, Tier 1 Components will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, exemplary, or consequential damages, including loss of use, lost profits, lost race entries, travel expenses, property damage to other components, or personal inconvenience arising from a warranty claim or product unavailability. Some states do not allow the exclusion or limitation of incidental or consequential damages, so this limitation may not apply to you.
Nothing in this warranty excludes or limits liability that cannot lawfully be excluded or limited, and no provision is intended to waive rights or remedies that applicable law makes non-waivable.
This warranty gives you specific legal rights, and you may also have other rights that vary from state to state. Consumers outside the United States may have mandatory rights under the laws of their country or region. Those rights are not reduced by this warranty where they cannot legally be limited.
For international claims, the purchaser may be responsible for transportation, customs charges, duties, taxes, brokerage, and other cross-border costs except where applicable law requires otherwise. The availability and form of a remedy may vary based on local law and product availability.
No dealer, distributor, sales representative, sponsored athlete, employee, or other person may modify, expand, or create a warranty obligation on behalf of Tier 1 Components unless the change is contained in a written agreement signed by an authorized representative of Tier 1 Components LLC.
To register a product, request warranty assistance, or begin a claim, contact the Tier 1 Components Warranty Department through the Contact page. Keep your proof of purchase, registration confirmation, product serial number, and original product documentation.
This policy is intended as clear consumer-facing warranty language and should be reviewed by qualified counsel before publication, particularly before sales expand into additional states or countries.
