Tier 1 406-30-30 carbon BMX rims are sold as a matched two-rim set. A Disc Brake Set includes two rims with no rim-brake surface. A V Brake Set includes one front rim with no brake surface and one rear rim with the V-brake surface.

Carbon layup and rim surface finish are separate specifications. Current 406 inventory uses a 3K / 3K Twill layup. Matte or Gloss, when shown, describes the exterior rim finish rather than the carbon layup.
Depending on the model and selected configuration, Tier 1 carbon rims are available for either rim-brake or disc-brake use.
